We all know that penicillin was discovered by accident. It grows naturally on bread and citrus.
NOTE: It also grows alongside nasty stuff, which is why it’s strongly recommended that you stockpile pharmaceutical grade medicines rather than go old-school! The nasty stuff could give you intestinal distress but if the sepsis is so bad, and you’re in a disaster scenario you might have to overlook the adverse effects.

UNDER THE RADAR TIP: Aquarium antibiotics are often exactly the same as common human versions of drugs such as Amoxicillin and Penicillin. Check the pill identifier numbers. You’d have to calculate the dosage, but it’s worth remembering when the looting begins!
